Infielder Christian Arroyo agreed Wednesday to a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers that includes an invitation to major league spring training.

Arroyo, 28, hit .241 with a .268 on-base percentage, 3 homers and 24 RBIs in 66 games for Boston last season.

Free agent left-hander Wandy Peralta is in agreement with the San Diego Padres on a four-year, $16.5 million contract, sources confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

The deal includes three player opt-outs, sources told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

The deal is pending a physical.

The New York Mets and Adam Ottavino have finalized a one-year, $4.5 million deal.

Ottavino spent the past two seasons with the Mets, going 1-7 with a 3.21 ERA and a career-best 12 saves in 66 appearances last year. 

In early November, the reliever declined a $6.75 million player option for 2024 that included $4 million that would have been paid from 2032-35, reducing the present-day value to an estimated $4.4 million.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Justin Turner have agreed to a one-year deal worth $13 million, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Turner can make an additional $1.5 million in bonuses, according to multiple reports. The deal was first reported Tuesday by MLB Network.

The Texas Rangers have internally discussed signing Brandon Belt, according to a report.

Belt is familiar with Rangers manager Bruce Bochy, who he spent time with as a member of the San Francisco Giants.

The 35-year-old hit .254/.369/.490 with 19 home runs in 404 plate appearances for the Toronto Blue Jays last season.

Justin Turner remains a free agent, but the veteran is "increasingly likely" to join a new team this week, according to a report.

Turner has been linked to several teams over the course of the offseason, including the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays.

The Minnesota Twins saved some money in Monday's trade that sent Jorge Polanco to the Seattle Mariners in a five-player deal.

Overall, the deal saved the Twins $5.25 million this season.

Lead baseball executive Derek Falvey says the Twins will reallocate those savings into the roster. He suggested the club was likely to look for help on the position player side after acquiring a reliever and a rotation option in the Polanco trade.

The Chicago Cubs are signing reliever Richard Lovelady to a deal.

The contract is presumably a Minor League pact with an invitation to Major League spring training.

Lovelady, 28, is a former 10th round pick of the Kansas City Royals.

The Los Angeles Angels agreed to terms on a one-year contract with veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks on Monday, adding him to an outfield mix that includes Mike Trout, Taylor Ward, Mickey Moniak and Jo Adell.

Hicks is still under the seven-year, $70 million contract he originally signed with the New York Yankees, which extends through the 2025 season. The deal pays Hicks $9.5 million in 2024 and $9.5 million in 2025 and includes a $1 million buyout for a club option in 2026. The Yankees are still responsible for all of it minus the major league minimum of $740,000 the Angels will pay him in 2024.

Left-hander Danny Coulombe and the Baltimore Orioles agreed to a $2.3 million, one-year contract on Monday that avoided a salary arbitration hearing.

Baltimore has a $4 million option for 2025 with no buyout as part of the agreement, and the option price could escalate to $4,925,000 based on games pitched this year: $100,000 for 50, $50,000 for each game from 51-55, $55,000 apiece for 56-60 and $60,000 each for 61-65.
